This keeps the pectin from clumping and the extra package assured a good set.
I also added Trinidad Scorpion Peppers which gave it a hellava kick. Really great on chicken wings.
Patrick Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08822778073253029553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17929896.post-16444179483931466902013-08-21T10:40:01.653-05:002013-08-21T10:40:01.653-05:00Lucy if you mix your pectin with a cup of sugar be...Lucy if you mix your pectin with a cup of sugar before adding it will not clump.
I added Trinidad scorpion peppers to your recipe and it came out great. I am working on creating my own melon, and have been doing large grow outs for selection, and have had dozens of melons I reduced to fruit leather, which the kids will eat, but the jam idea is stellar! With all the lunches we make every year sending the kids to school with sandwiches, we go through a lot of jam and jellies, and it is always nice to add to the variety. Thanks for taking the time to work through a recipe. I will try it this year.Tom Kleffmanhttp://threedaughtersfarm.com/wp/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17929896.post-31687133375573824202013-03-04T07:03:10.335-05:002013-03-04T07:03:10.335-05:00Would love to have this in our permanent link ups ...Would love to have this in our permanent link ups if you were pleased with the recipe!
